About ClearCasinos
We built ClearCasinos to fix a broken industry. Most casino review sites earn commissions when you sign up — creating a direct incentive to recommend whoever pays the most. We earn zero commissions. Our rankings are driven by data, not deals.
Why ClearCasinos Exists
The online casino review industry runs on affiliate commissions. A review site recommends a casino, you sign up through their link, and the site earns a percentage of your losses — forever. The more you lose, the more they earn.
That model creates an obvious conflict of interest. The site has a financial incentive to recommend casinos with the highest commission rates, not the best player experience. High-commission operators get top rankings. Low-commission operators get buried — regardless of quality.
We decided to build something different. ClearCasinos earns zero revenue from player signups, deposits, or wagers. When you click a link on our site, you go directly to the casino — not through an affiliate tracking URL. Our revenue comes from clearly labeled sponsored placements, enhanced listings, and banner advertising. None of these influence ranking scores.
How We Score Casinos
Every casino goes through the same evaluation. We score each operator across 40+ individual criteria organized into six weighted dimensions:
The result is a single score on a 1–10 scale that reflects each casino's actual performance — not its marketing budget. We re-evaluate monthly and update scores when significant changes occur.
The full methodology — every criterion, every weight, every calculation — is published on our scoring methodology page. Nothing is hidden.
The BUV Scoring System
Casino bonuses are the most misunderstood part of online gambling. A “€500 bonus” headline tells you almost nothing about the real value. The terms — wagering requirements, game contributions, expiry windows, win caps — determine whether you ever see a profit.
We built the Bonus Utility Value (BUV) scoring system to cut through marketing claims. BUV scores every bonus from 0–100 by weighing the factors that actually matter: wagering multiplier, wagering basis (bonus-only vs. bonus+deposit), sticky type, game contribution rates, maximum bet limits, expiry windows, and win caps.
A high BUV score means the bonus delivers real, clearable value. A low score means the terms eat most of the benefit — regardless of how large the headline number is.
How We Make Money
Transparency about revenue is non-negotiable for a site that claims to be commission-free. Here is exactly how ClearCasinos generates revenue:
- Sponsored placements: Casinos can pay for enhanced visibility (labeled “Featured” or “Sponsored”). Sponsored placement never influences the ranking score. A casino paying for a featured spot receives the same objective score it would have received otherwise.
- Enhanced listings: Premium tier operators can access additional profile features — detailed game data, provider breakdowns, and priority placement in category pages. The listing is enhanced, not the score.
- Banner advertising: Standard display advertising from operators and industry partners. Clearly labeled as advertising.
We do not earn revenue from: rev-share agreements, CPA (cost-per-acquisition) deals, hybrid commission models, or any arrangement where our income depends on player signups, deposits, or losses.
The Team Behind ClearCasinos
Antonio has spent more than five years testing and reviewing online casinos and betting sites, with over 200 platforms checked in detail. He pays close attention to wagering requirements, withdrawal processes, and the small things most reviewers overlook.
Nataly loves checking casino games and platforms so you don't have to. She spends her days spinning slots, testing features, and picking apart every detail to give you honest, no-fluff reviews. She knows how to cut through the noise and tell you what actually matters. If something's off, she'll spot it.
Our editorial process combines iGaming industry research with data analysis. Every review follows a strict workflow:
- Data collection— bonus terms, payment methods, game counts, license status, and support channels are documented from the operator's own site
- Scoring — the casino runs through our 40+ criteria model to produce dimension scores and an overall rating
- Review writing — editorial analysis of the data, including bonus math, payment speed comparisons, and honest pros/cons
- Editorial review — every review is checked for accuracy, style compliance, and factual claims before publication
We never fabricate experience. Our reviews state what the casino offers, what terms apply, and what our analysis shows — not invented stories about depositing and playing.
Our Editorial Standards
- No fabricated experience: We do not claim to have signed up, deposited, played, or withdrawn at casinos unless someone actually did. Reviews are data-driven analysis, not fake diary entries.
- Honest weaknesses: Every review includes real negatives. A review with no cons has no credibility. If a casino has slow withdrawals, high wagering, or limited support, we say so.
- Specific numbers: Game counts, bonus amounts, wagering calculations, withdrawal timelines — all verifiable. No vague claims.
- No competitor bashing: We compare casinos to category averages, not to named competitors — unless a direct comparison is explicitly requested.
- Regulatory accuracy: License status is verified against regulator databases. If a casino claims a license we cannot verify, we flag it.
